Meet the Staff: Beth Nelson

09/18/2024

Beth Nelson was born in Sandusky, Ohio, a city known for Cedar Point, one of the oldest amusement parks in the United States. When she was just four, her family relocated to Ontario, Canada, where her father pursued his calling in Christian ministry. After a few more moves, they eventually settled in the small town of Collingwood, where her father became the pastor of Berean Baptist Church. Beth completed most of her education in Canada and even picked up the classic Canadian “eh” along the way.

Although she enjoyed living north of the border, her family moved back to the U.S. in the middle of her senior year of high school, when her father accepted a position as Vice Principal and Guidance Counselor at a Christian school in Middletown, Ohio. After high school, Beth started her career as a loan processor for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, where she specialized in real estate loans and advanced to become a Level 2 Underwriter. This role gave her valuable experience in navigating complex real estate transactions, understanding mortgage and title processes, and developing attention to detail. These experiences proved crucial when she later transitioned to the title insurance and legal fields.

A few years later, Beth’s family moved again, this time to Lakeland, Florida, and Beth soon followed. In Florida, she earned her title insurance license and worked as a title insurance agent before being recruited by a reputable law firm to work in its real estate department. In 2023, after 15 years in the industry, Beth joined Reed Mawhinney & Link as a real estate paralegal. In this role, she assists the attorneys with various tasks, including preparing and reviewing contracts, conducting title searches, coordinating closings, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements for real estate transactions. Beth’s expertise and years of training helps streamline the process for clients, ensuring smooth property transfers and addressing any legal issues that may arise.

Beth met her husband, Tyler, in Lakeland, and they’ve enjoyed 16 wonderful years together, with 13 of those as a married couple. They share their home on the south side of Lakeland with their three dogs. The couple enjoys watching football, boating, fishing, trivia nights, working out, and spending time with their family and friends. With her parents still living in Lakeland and her siblings’ families nearby, Beth has firmly declared that no one is allowed to move again!
