Mayfaire by-the-Lake Returns to Lake Morton

05/08/2024

This weekend, May 11 – 12, 2024, the shores of Lake Morton will again spring to life with the annual Mayfaire by-the-Lake Fine Arts Festival.

Now in its 52nd year, Mayfaire attracts locals and visitors alike with an eclectic blend of artistic expression. Hosted annually by the Polk Museum of Art, this beloved event showcases the work of talented artists from across the country, spanning various mediums such as painting, sculpture, ceramics, and more. Set against the backdrop of Lake Morton, Mayfaire transforms the lake shore into a vibrant outdoor gallery. This year’s festival includes 149 artists.

Beyond its artistic offerings, Mayfaire also serves as a hub for cultural enrichment and community engagement. From live music performances and interactive art demonstrations to delectable culinary delights from local food vendors, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Families can partake in hands-on art activities and this year adds the excitement of a DJ playing top 40 hits throughout the weekend. Just don’t try to ride the swans.

As a law firm deeply rooted in the Lakeland community, we recognize the significance of events like Mayfaire in fostering a sense of belonging and pride among residents. The festival not only promotes local artists and businesses but also strengthens the social fabric of Lakeland by bringing its people together. We hope you take the chance to visit our neighborhood.

The event is free and will run from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. For all the details about this year’s Mayfaire festival, visit Lakeland’s source for independent news, LkldNow.
