Whether planning an international trip or exploring the Frank Lloyd Wright architecture a few streets away, Lauren is always on the lookout for a new adventure. Born into a military family, she grew up in Virginia and California before her family settled in Summerville, South Carolina, where she grew up amidst the beauty of the South Carolina Lowcountry for ten years and developed a lifelong affinity for Charleston’s architecture and pecan pralines.
After earning a dual bachelor’s degree in English and History from Winthrop University, Lauren relocated to the Sunshine State in 2019 to earn a master’s degree in English from the University of South Florida-Tampa, where she researched 20th century American literature and early literary depictions of the film industry and Hollywood culture. From there, she returned to suburbia by moving to Lakeland, where she enjoys walking and exploring around Lake Hollingsworth, finding new breakfast treats downtown, and visiting the swans and ducks on Lake Morton. She is excited to be a part of Reed Mawhinney & Link as the receptionist and administrative professional.
In her free time, Lauren loves to travel to see her family back in the Carolinas and explore new places! Her favorite places she has been so far are the city of London, the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland, and Acadia National Park in Maine; one of her bucket list goals is to visit every U.S. state and explore as many national parks as possible within them. In addition to traveling, she loves reading, cooking and baking, watching movies, and most of all spending time with her husband David and their two rambunctious cats, Pippa and Maggie.
